  • Another way is to apply the pulp of ripe papaya directly to the skin and leave it on for at least twenty minutes before rinsing it off. Repeat the treatment at least three times a week for better results!
Lemons are rich in vitamin C which can lighten dark spots plus, it is very easy to apply on the skin!
Step 1: Squeeze the juices out of lemon in a small bowl.
Step 2: Soak a cotton ball into the juice and rub it on your dark spots.
Step 3: Allow the lemon juice to dry on your skin before rinsing it off.
Repeat this treatment until your dark spots disappear! However, if you have sensitive skin, you can mix lemon juice with water, honey or rose water. Do not use lemon juice if the spores are open or there are cuts on the skin! Do not go under the sun after applying lemon juice.


Do you know that potatoes contain natural bleaching properties? This means that potatoes can help the skin remove scars, blemishes as well as dark spots! The starch in potatoes is effective in reducing pigmentation while the enzymes in potatoes are great for maintaining healthier skin! There are three ways to apply potatoes:
  • Make slices of potatoes and place one slice each on the dark spots of the skin. Leave the potatoes on for few minutes before washing your face with warm water.
  • Peel a potato and grate it. Mix a teaspoon of honey to make a mask. Apply it on your face and let it dry for at least fifteen minutes before washing it off with warm water.
  • Extract the juice of a potato and add a pinch of turmeric powder and lemon juice. Apply the mixture on your dark spots. Let it dry before rinsing your face with warm water.
Aside from potatoes, you can also use tomatoes on your dark spots! Tomatoes also have amazing properties which promote younger and glowing skin while removing impurities!


Oatmeal is not only great for breakfast but it is also considered effective for skin exfoliation. Oats have saponins which act as natural cleansers. Applying oatmeal mask on your skin does not only remove black spots but also dead skin cells. It can also help the skin become softer and smoother as it repairs skin cells and rejuvenate the skin.
Step 1: Grind half a cup of oals.
Step 2: Add three tablespoons of lemon juice. Mix well to make a paste.
Step 3: Apply the paste on your face. Scrub your skin gently.
Step 4: Rinse it off with lukewarm water. You can also use a cloth to remove the mask.
Repeat this treatment at least once a week for better results!


Buttermilk is also effective in removing dark spots on face. Like lemons, it can also eliminate dark spots, scars and skin blemishes without any burning sensation! Lactic acid in buttermilk can also decrease skin pigmentation which can make your skin brighter and younger looking!

Step 1: In 4 teaspoons of buttermilk, add 2 teaspoons of tomato juice.

Step 2: Mix it well and apply the mixture on your skin for at least fifteen minutes.

Step 3: Wash it off with warm water.

You can use milk as an alternative for buttermilk. Simply soak a cotton ball in it and apply it directly on the skin. Leave it for at least ten minutes before rinsing it with warm water. Repeat this treatment two times a day for a month!


Onion juice is also effective in clearing dark spots! You can apply it in two ways:
  • In 1 tablespoon of onion juice, add 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix it well and apply the mixture on your skin. Leave it for at least 20 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. You can add vinegar if your skin is oily.
  • Another way is to deep a cotton ball into the onion juice. Apply it directly on the skin. Simply air-dry it before rinsing it off.


Olive oil offers many skin benefits and one of them is providing healthier skin while getting rid of dark spots and pimple scars!
Step 1: Take some olive oil on your palm.
Step 2: Massage it gently on your face while focusing more on dark spots and scars. Massage for few minutes until the oil is absorbed by your skin.
Step 3: Take a clean cloth and dip it into warm water. Put the wet cloth on the face to absorb the steam.
Step 4: Wipe the excess oil using the oil but do not rub! After two minutes, wash your face with water.


  • Protect your skin from the sun by applying sunscreen.
  • Do not use too much make up and always remember to remove makeup before going to bed.
  • Do not try to exfoliate your skin if you have open wounds or sores!
  • Always drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated!
